Because I Have Nothing Better To Do...

I am writing again.  It's been a while, as usual, and I'm sure I won't be back for long.  But still, for whatever it's worth, I'm writing again.  Time has flown by, but yet everything seems pretty much the same.

Or not.

There's been a new addition to the family.  A little cocksucking creep named Chico.  He's an ugly mutt but he'll grow on you.  If it wasn't for the fact that the little bastard wakes me up every friggin' day at 6am, he'd actually be quite adorable.  But for now he's a Care Bear murdering, cocksucking creep.

It seems as though both the provincial and federal governments are out to get me.  I'm getting reviewed (aka audited) by the both of them.  Not bad for someone who's still a student and barely makes a living, eh?  Imagine what it'll be like when I get a real job...

Yup, so it seems I owe them some money.  Quite a bit of money too.  Well, it's really not all that much, but for a po' student trying to make ends meet, it really bites.  At least I'm not in (too much) debt.  Yet.

Yup, so this is it.  The final semester at that dump Concordia, and then out into the real world.  At least it's looking like an easy one, as I only have 3 days of classes.  It feels a bit weird though.  Now it's time to start looking for a job, saving for a car, a house, retirement, blah blah blah.  It never ends...

I've been thinking of getting a part-time job.  Some bs job where I have no responsibilities whatsoever.  Some job where I can just goof around all the time.  At some place where I would reap immense advantages.  The first thing that came to mind was working at a movie theater.  I would just do fuck all and watch movies all the time.

Drinking seems to have become a regular part of my life lately.  It's not something to be proud of, but that's just the way it is I suppose.  At least it's not heavy drinking though.  Social drinking I would call it.  Still, gotta stop sippin' the syrup...  Can't become a gin soldier like Meghna...

So yeah, a lot of free time = increased propensity to drink + catching up on tv shows + getting back into shape.  Currently watching: Lost, Survivor, The O.C., The Apprentice (Original + Martha Stewart style).  Currently swimming 2-3 times a week, although I wouldn't exactly call it swimming.  It's more like me struggling to stay alive in the water while trying to not look like a complete idiot.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna participate in the L'Oreal E-Strat Challenge.  I already have 1 partner, just have to get 1 more and we're good to go.  Registration begins on October 1st, so that gives me a bit of time to find someone else.  And for those of you that don't know, the E-Strat Challenge is a worldwide online management competition.  Winners get to go present their business cases at L'Oreal HQ in Paris.  I've got quite the incentive to win already, as Pea proudly stated "If you win, I'll buy you a beaker!"  Beaker as in the scientific laboratory equipment.  To this day I still don't know what the hell she was talking about...

I've been playing Diablo II again.  Stupid fuckin' crack Diablo II.  I just need an occasional hit to keep the edge off I suppose.  I'm building a CommandoMancer.  Most people will probably have no clue what I'm talking about...

Went to a so-called "ghetto" party yesterday at the UdM Faculty of Law.  I had a good time, but everyone else wanted to leave after like 30 minutes of being there, so we took off pretty early.  But I guess that's normal, I pretty much always have a good time whenever there is music around, even if it is shite music.  The booze doesn't even have to be present, even if it was.  Left there and grabbed some late night grub at Jojo.  Then headed to Tommy's, polished off a bottle of cheap red and played some Age of Mythology.  I won.  Hehe...

Yup, so that pretty much sums up my life at this juncture.  Lack of money + lots of free time = back to writing again.

Sayonara WPB!

So what happened today?  More of the usual West Palm Beach routine.  Beach, shopping and eating junk food.  It kinda sucks though because this is my last day here.  A few more hours and I'll be back on a plane headed for Montreal.  Boo...

For some reason my t-shirt smelled rancid today.  It was one of those Aeropostale t-shirts I bought at the factory outlet.  It was horrible.  It smelled like a combination of poo and B.O. and seaweed.  I was super embarassed all day, walking around and stinking up a storm.  I wonder what the hell happened to that t-shirt before I bought it.

So what do I do when confronted with such an embarassing situation?  Pretend it's someone else, of course.  Just like everyone does.  I walked around and gave people the "You're smelly" look so they would think that they were the stinkers.  Hehehe.

US Airways stinks too.  I made changes to my flight and they haven't even sent me a confirmation email.  It's already been 2 days.  I called a few times and the reps told me that it was sent out, but I never received anything.  Plus their "Print receipt / itinerary" feature on their website doesn't even work.

I hope tomorrow doesn't turn out to be a repeat of our flight here.  Our flight got cancelled, we had to mad rush like on The Amazing Race to make the replacement flights and our luggage was lost.  No wonder US Airways is in such bad shape.

We went to eat some Mexican for supper.  The food wasn't very good, and the service was slow as well.  And what's up with this automatic addition of gratuity in the bill?  So retarded.  Seems like a common thing around these parts though.  But still, at least make it sensible...  20% gratuity automatically included.  And of course the service sucks donkey's ass.

Can't wait to get back to Montreal, where things make a bit more sense.  Can't wait to go to afterhours either.  One last hurrah before hitting the books.

Time to finish my packing.

Beach Bummin' Part Duex

I'm loving the beach right now.  Spent another early afternoon bummin' around, sloshing water on the Pea and doing Pea-bo.  Huh, hah, huh hah huh hah!

Finally exhausted the memory card.  I wound up taking about 350 pictures during this trip.  Suck that I forgot the cable, or else I would've taken a lot more.  350 is still a fair amount though.  Imagine printing all that out.  It would cost around 100 bucks!

Pea and I went to TJ Maxx in the late afternoon for some retail therapy.  For those who don't know, TJ Maxx is like the american version of Winners.  I didn't take the address down, so we wound up driving around for a little while.  I got the usual eeevil eye Pea treatment.  After finally finding the place and a bit of browsing around, I bought jeans and Pea bought a couple pairs of jeans and a sweater.

The rest of the day I just sat around, watched tv and ate a few bags of chips.  I had to pack my bags too.  Sucks, I realized that I'm gonna be back in Montreal (and consequently, in school and in shitty weather) in a few days.  Doesn't feel like I've been here 2 weeks.

My wallet has however felt the wrath of the last 2 weeks.

It was however well worth it.

Beach Bummin'

Yup, nothing much to report today.  Woke up kinda late and just headed to the beach.  The weather was awesome today, so after a bit of fun in the water I just rested in the sun.  Played and rested, played and rested.  Oh, and ate some leftover KFC as well.  It was a great day at the beach.

Didn't really do much more for the rest of the day.  Watched tv, did a bit of laundry and just relaxed.  I think the rest of my days in Florida will look a lot like today.  It's great.  I could live the rest of my life like this.

Everyone else is already back in school now.

Suckers!

The Orlando Excursion

Well, I missed out on my daily entry yesterday, but I have a good excuse.  I was in Orlando with no internet access.  Let's recap then:

Yesterday:

Woke up at 6 am to head out for Orlando.  I had left my beach towel out to dry on the patio the day before, so I went to pick it up.  But something was afoul...  There, on my towel, was some sort of animal that looked like an ant-eater.  I have no clue what it was up to, but by the looks of it he seemed to be humping / licking my beach towel.  I stood there in dismay, utterly powerless and staring at the towel rape for a few minutes.  After a while, seeing that he wouldn't leave, I decided to go brush my teeth so he could finish his business.  I came back after that, but he was still at it.  So I went to grab my camera, but by the time I came back he had pulled a Keyser Soze on me.  Too bad...  Fuckin' towel-raping animals...  Anyways, Pea and I left around 7:45 am since we had to meet with this dude that was gonna give us free tickets.

... A short trip later...

We got into Epcot at around 10:30 am and sorta wandered around for a while.  I just wanted to take in the sights since this was my first time at DisneyWorld.  Did some of the rides, went to see a few shows...

Ok, so maybe I'm getting a bit old and all, but the shows seem to suck.  I guess that the intended target audience is young children, but man...  I saw this show about energy and it was just sad.  I almost fell asleep in there.  I'm sure that even the kids thought that it blowed.  And the rides are for kiddies as well.  Those big thrill rides just aren't that thrilling.  I think the best ride I went on was the Mad Tea Party (teacups).

All that didn't really matter though.  I got to take a picture with astronauts Mickey and Goofy, as well as with some strange purple character who's name I can't recall.  I'll post his pic once I get home because I forgot my usb cable.

Pea and I mostly strolled around most of the day, taking silly pictures of us with our Mickey and Minnie ears whenever we had the chance.  We went to the Magic Kingdom around 5 pm so I could see Cinderella's Castle and Mickey & Minnie's respective houses.  Somehow I had always assumed that they lived together...

We also shared this huge smoked turkey drumstick.  It was awesome.  I felt like a caveman with my huge drumstick.

Time really flew by.  We barely managed to finish 2 parks, which is already awesome since most people can't finish 1 per day.  At 9 pm there was this free fireworks show.  Everyone just stood there in silence watching it, ooing and ahing every time there was a big bopper.  It was awesome.

All in all, I thought the trip to Disney was really cool.  Ok, so it  would've been friggin' amazing if I was like 10 years old, but it was still pretty cool.  Especially since it was free!

After DisneyWorld, we decided to stay in Orlando since it was already around 10:30 pm.  We drove around, ate at Denny's and finally settled in at the Orlando Grand Plaza Hotel & Suites since I had found some coupon for it.  That's the thing with Orlando.  There's a goddamn coupon for everything.  Everything.  You name it, there's a friggin' coupon for it.  And if you don't have the coupon, well then you just get ripped.

Anyways, by the name of the hotel I was expecting something pretty nice.  I had heard the "Plaza" mentionned on tv a few times, so I guess I came in with heightened expectations.

Well, my expectations pretty much got shattered when I arrived at my room.  I thought it smelled funny, and Pea found pee in the toilet bowl.  Hehe, Pea found pee...  Yeah, so I immediately asked for a room change.  In the next room, our bathrrom sink was busted.  But at least it was (seemingly) clean, and we were just too tired to change rooms again.  So we just crashed.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid here, but I felt itchy in that room.  And in the morning, I woke up and there was a fruitfly on my leg.  At least I think it was a fruitfly...  Fuckin' dirty hotels...

At least the hotel clerk was nice.  He gave me free orange toothpaste.  I gave him a cigarette.  It was like a scene out of a prison movie or something.

Today:

Spent the day shopping at various outlet malls.  They call themselves "outlets", but that really just bull.  Everything is just as expensive as at regular stores.  It's just a tourist trap for those that like to think that they're saving money.

And to think...  I got conned too.

I hadn't bought anything for myself yet until today.  And today I went buck wild and bought:

- 1 pair Saucony Jazz
- 1 pair Puma Cell skate shoes (who knew Puma made skate shoes?)
- 5 Aeropostale t-shirts
- 3 hoodies
- 1 long-sleeved t-shirt

Well ok, now that I look at it it's still not that much.  All that came up to less than a hundred bucks too, so I guess I didn't get conned that bad.

That's pretty much all we did today.  Shop shop shop.  Oh, went to eat KFC again.  Pea is calling it my favorite restaurant now.

Too tired and uninspired to write anymore.  Only half-thoughts are forming.
